Butterfly Thomas is a writer, social commentator & community activist who has been writing poetry since junior high school. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biological science & a master’s in public health. Her concerns for racial & social justice for her peoples & all peoples have greatly influenced her writing, along with her love of nature, art, architecture & music.

Ms. Thomas has worked in corporate amerika, quality control, health & medical services, substance abuse, mental health & public health fields. She is involved with community organizations & is dedicated to the advancement of her Peoples of Afrikan Descent & universal human rights. She is a lifelong resident of Chicago.
